British Airways has launched a trial offering customers access to more than 7,000 digital magazines and newspapers in its lounges and onboard flights. The pilot, running into next year, is delivered through a partnership with PressReader.
The trial gives passengers access to publications from 156 countries in 63 languages. Eligibility covers customers who booked a British Airways flight via ba.com, as well as guests visiting selected British Airways lounges.
Participants receive an email 24 hours before departure with a link to access the range of titles. They are prompted to download the PressReader app, which is authorized for a 72-hour access window tied to the flight. Lounge guests must download the app and connect to the lounge Wi‑Fi to use the service while on site.
Downloads remain on the user’s device indefinitely once completed, allowing passengers to read offline after the authorization period. British Airways says the trial will help assess customer demand for in-flight and lounge digital reading. Similar offerings are already available from other carriers, such as Finnair.
