At the Global Business Travel Association’s annual conference in Boston, GroundLink, a global black car service, announced the launch of Ride Now, an app-based option that connects customers with a ride in 20 minutes or less.
The service, now available, extends GroundLink’s presence across metro Boston and significantly shortens the lead time required to request a scheduled trip to and from surrounding New England suburbs. For every Boston Ride Now trip completed through Aug. 31, GroundLink will donate $5 to the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston.
“We’re excited to introduce our increasingly popular Ride Now service in Boston during the country’s largest corporate travel convention. Ride Now is already live in New York and Chicago, and we recently launched in Austin, Dallas and Houston. Boston is the latest market to join our expanding Ride Now network, which complements our scheduled ride offerings,” said Liz Carisone, chief executive officer of GroundLink. “While many business travelers still prefer to schedule trips—especially airport transfers—they also need reliable last-minute rides for impromptu meetings or unexpected pickups. Ride Now addresses that need. We’re also proud to support the local Boston community through our partnership with the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston.”
To use the service, members open GroundLink’s mobile app, choose pickup and drop-off locations, and select Ride Now. After booking, customers can view their driver in real time and see a detailed price breakdown before confirming; rates are locked in. Once the ride begins, passengers can track the vehicle and communicate directly with the driver.
