The Pikesville Armory, a 120-year-old historic site, will undergo a multi-year redevelopment to become a 14-acre arts and recreation campus. Plans call for artist studios, indoor sports facilities, performance spaces, public art installations, outdoor athletic fields and community amenities designed to serve residents and attract visitors.
Major cultural institutions are also receiving attention: the historic B&O Railroad Museum is undergoing redevelopment to preserve and enhance its offerings, and The Performing Arts Center is being updated to improve facilities for performers and audiences alike. Together, these investments reflect a coordinated strategy to strengthen Baltimore’s cultural infrastructure, support local jobs, and expand tourism and community programming across the region.
