Autograph Collection Adds The Dixon Hotel to Portfolio

The Dixon, a luxury hotel in London, has joined Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotels as a distinctive independent property. Located near Tower Bridge, the hotel provides convenient access to riverside landmarks such as Shakespeare’s Globe and other popular attractions.

“We are delighted to expand our offering of one-of-a-kind hotels in London with The Dixon. As vibrant, creative and historic as the neighborhood in which it resides, The Dixon perfectly embodies our values and we’re excited for our guests to experience it,” said John Licence, vice president, premium and select brands, Europe, Marriott International.

Originally constructed as a courthouse and police station in the early 1900s, The Dixon’s architectural restoration preserves and celebrates the building’s past while introducing contemporary touches. The design references the site’s history in subtle, authentic ways: public benches in the lobby recall those where detainees once waited, and a chandelier crafted from handcuffs hangs above the main staircase.

The hotel features nearly 200 guestrooms, including ten suites, blending original period details with modern comforts and technology. Social and dining spaces echo the building’s heritage. The Courtroom Bar, located beneath the original judge’s bench, serves artisan cocktails in a setting that pays tribute to the property’s former life. The Provisioners restaurant offers a modern culinary experience with a fresh, design-forward interior.

Rani Ahluwalia, creative director of M Studio London—one of the interior design teams behind the project—explained the guiding vision: “The Dixon will offer a unique take on the boutique hotel experience, offering guests a neighborhood feel in the heart of the capital. The design intention was to create something truly beautiful, which intrinsically links back to the origins of the building and the iconic location. Collaboration has been essential to the finely crafted designs and finishes throughout the hotel, drawing upon a wide range of expertise to establish a truly stunning final product.”

Guests can expect a curated blend of historic character and contemporary hospitality, with spaces designed for both relaxation and social interaction. The hotel’s location makes it a practical base for sightseeing, business, and cultural outings, while its one-of-a-kind interiors provide a memorable stay distinct from more conventional city hotels.

With its careful restoration and thoughtful design, The Dixon adds a layered, local personality to the Autograph Collection portfolio, appealing to travelers seeking authentic, design-led accommodations in central London.
