Australia Welcomes Its First Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Boeing and Jetstar Airways have marked the delivery of Jetstar’s first Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the first Dreamliner to be operated by any Australian carrier. Ray Conner, president and CEO of Boeing, said the company is proud to hand over the innovative 787 to Jetstar. He noted that the Dreamliner’s industry-leading fuel efficiency will give Jetstar a competitive edge while offering passengers an advanced in-flight experience.

The Jetstar 787 is configured with 355 seats: 21 business-class seats and 314 in economy. The airline plans to begin by flying the aircraft on domestic routes and will later introduce it on international services. With 14 Dreamliners on order, Jetstar aims to transition to an all-787 long-haul fleet.
