Amazing Flight Deals from Wow Air: Cheap Fares & Destinations

WOW air, Iceland’s low-cost carrier, launched year-round transatlantic service via Reykjavík on March 27, 2015.

With fares starting at $99 one-way, flights departed from Boston Logan International Airport and connected through Reykjavík (RKV) to several European destinations, including London (LGW), Berlin (SXF), Copenhagen (CPH) and Paris (CDG). Service to Dublin (DUB) and Amsterdam (AMS) was scheduled to begin in summer 2015.

WOW air’s Boston operations began March 27, 2015. Service from Washington, D.C. (BWI) was initially offered as a seasonal route, operating June 4 through October 31, and was set to commence in June 2015.

Founded in 2011 by Icelandic entrepreneur Skúli Mogensen, WOW air was on track to carry its one-millionth passenger by December of that year. “We are proud to set the pace for low-cost transatlantic travel,” Mogensen said. “From our first day of operations, my dream has been to connect North America and Europe through Iceland.”

Mogensen explained that Boston was selected because of its expanding role in international travel and its balanced mix of business and leisure passengers. Flights between Logan and Reykjavík were scheduled to operate with Airbus A321ER aircraft, while WOW air’s existing Airbus A320 fleet would serve routes between Reykjavík and European cities.
