Air Italy, formerly Meridiana, has launched a new Milan (MXP)–Bangkok (BKK) route as part of its Asia expansion. The service operates five times per week, connecting northern Italy’s main hub with Thailand’s vibrant capital.
The airline deploys an Airbus A330-200 on the route, featuring 24 business-class seats that convert to fully flat beds with a 78-inch length. Business passengers are offered amenity kits, bedding, complimentary pajamas and slippers on request, and up to 60MB of free Wi-Fi to stay connected during the flight.
Neil Mills, Chief Operating Officer of Air Italy, commented on the new service: “With the opening of this third international route this year to Bangkok, Air Italy is delighted and proud to fly for the first time to Thailand, a country famed for its beauty and one which is sure to prove popular with our ever-expanding customer base.”
Mills highlighted the airline’s recent performance, noting a successful summer driven by new US routes to New York and Miami that achieved load factors above 90 percent. He added that more than half of the carrier’s customers connect through Milan from southern and central Italy, underscoring that the business plan is delivering a broader choice for long-haul travel.
The new Milan–Bangkok service expands Air Italy’s long-haul network and strengthens connections between Italy and Asia, aiming to attract both leisure travelers drawn to Thailand’s culture and scenery and business passengers seeking comfortable, direct travel options.
