Air France and Hertz Extend Partnership for Improved Travel Services

Air France has renewed its partnership with Hertz, Thrifty and Firefly car rental brands, making them the airline’s exclusive partners for the next four years. The three brands, all part of the Hertz Corporation, will also serve as the exclusive car rental providers for Air France-KLM Group’s regional carrier HOP! through 2020.

The renewed agreement delivers benefits for travelers who book car rentals through these brands, including discounts on basic rentals and selected products. Air France passengers can access a wide selection of vehicles via the car rental companies’ websites as well as through Air France’s website and mobile app. The integrated booking experience on Air France’s mobile site and app lets customers reserve both flights and rental cars in a single flow, often with special rates on selected vehicles and add-ons.

“Hertz and Air France have enjoyed a successful partnership for the last 28 years, helping to drive the constant evolution in seamless ‘fly drive’ services to customers,” said Michel Taride, Group President of Hertz International. “Our enhanced agreement with Air France and our new partnership with HOP! will result in added benefits tailored specifically for both carriers’ passengers, who will also receive fantastic Hertz, Thrifty and Firefly discounts and privileges.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Air France passengers will receive a 15 percent discount on Hertz basic car rentals, and up to a 10 percent discount on basic rentals with Thrifty and Firefly. The program includes a range of targeted rental products designed for Air France and HOP! travelers:

  • No Stress — Hertz offers fixed prices year-round to simplify planning and budgeting.
  • SuperCover — an enhanced protection option that includes a free additional driver and unlimited mileage where applicable.
  • Youth — removal of the young renter surcharge for drivers aged 19–23 renting Hertz vehicles in France.
  • Family — a 15 percent discount on basic Thrifty rentals, 50 percent off child seats and a complimentary additional driver.

Members of Air France’s Flying Blue loyalty program can earn extra miles for every qualifying rental booked through the carrier’s website. Elite Flying Blue members will be eligible for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards tier matching, which brings additional rental benefits. For La Première passengers, the partnership includes a meet-and-greet service: Hertz customer service representatives will welcome La Première travelers at arrivals and escort them to their rental vehicle at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) airports.

The renewed collaboration reinforces integrated travel services by simplifying the connection between air and ground transportation, offering loyalty incentives and tailored rental products that address a variety of passenger needs, from family travel to young drivers and premium customers.
