Air Canada Rolls Out Enhanced Rouge Premium Experience

To enhance the travel experience for premium passengers, Air Canada has introduced a series of upgrades to its leisure carrier, Air Canada rouge. These improvements focus on comfort, storage and entertainment to ensure a more relaxed and enjoyable journey for travelers flying on rouge.

The premium cabin across rouge’s fleet of 20 Airbus A319 aircraft will move from the existing 3-3 layout with a blocked middle seat to a more spacious 2-2 configuration by mid-June. This change creates two side-by-side business-class seats, giving passengers greater personal space and increased legroom. Each seat will offer full power options, including a 110-volt outlet and a high-powered USB port, enabling customers to charge devices throughout the flight.

Carry-on capacity will also be improved across the A319 fleet with the introduction of redesigned overhead storage doors this summer. These so-called “pillow doors” increase bin volume by about 30 percent and are designed to make stowing carry-on items faster and more efficient, reducing gate delays and improving boarding and deplaning flow.

Onboard entertainment is being upgraded across both Airbus A319 and Boeing 767 aircraft. Air Canada rouge now offers a complimentary streaming entertainment service called player, accessible through a free app for Apple and Android devices. The service lets passengers stream a selection of movies, TV shows and other content directly to their personal devices. Premium customers also have access to complimentary iPad rentals, which are stocked with a rotating selection of recent Hollywood releases and popular games for added enjoyment during the flight.

Together, these enhancements—reconfigured premium seating, expanded overhead storage and an improved entertainment offering—are aimed at delivering a more comfortable, convenient and entertaining experience for Air Canada rouge’s premium travelers.
