Air Canada has opened a new Maple Leaf Lounge at St. John’s International Airport in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Located in the airport’s expanded departures terminal, the lounge—opened Dec. 19—offers sweeping views of historic Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean. Designed to accommodate up to 84 guests, the space features a business center, a self-service bar, a selection of snacks and complimentary Wi‑Fi.
The new facility replaces a smaller Air Canada lounge and introduces an updated, contemporary design. Maple wood screen walls and Canadian-made furnishings create a warm, inviting atmosphere, while curated local artwork and crafts reflect the landscape and culture of Newfoundland and Labrador.
“Customers will be warmly received and will enjoy a calm environment in which to work or relax before their Air Canada flight,” said Andrew Yiu, vice president of product, Air Canada.
Local officials highlighted the lounge’s importance for tourism. “High-quality airport experiences support visitation, and the new Maple Leaf Lounge at the upgraded St. John’s International Airport will help attract more visitors and reinforce our province’s reputation as a first-class destination,” said Dwight Ball, premier of Newfoundland and Labrador.
With modern amenities and regional touches, the Maple Leaf Lounge aims to enhance passenger comfort and provide a welcoming pre-flight experience for travelers using St. John’s International Airport.
