Aer Lingus Launches New Minneapolis–Dublin Route: Flight Details & Dates

Aer Lingus will begin nonstop service between Minneapolis–Saint Paul (MSP) and Dublin (DUB) starting July 8, 2019. This new transatlantic connection makes direct travel between the Twin Cities and Ireland more convenient for both business and leisure travelers.

Brian Ryks, executive director and CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, said the decision follows clear demand from Minnesota’s business community. “We learned that there is significant demand among Minnesota’s business community for direct air service to Ireland,” Ryks said, noting that Aer Lingus determined nonstop flights between the two cities would be commercially viable.

Michael Langley, CEO of Greater MSP, a public-private partnership focused on regional economic growth, welcomed the new service as a boost to the area’s international connectivity. “The addition of Aer Lingus non-stop service to Dublin is another enhancement to the growing access and international reach available to businesses within our region,” Langley said. “We are excited about this offering which supports our continued efforts to be a top competitor in today’s global economy.”

Aer Lingus will operate the route using a Boeing 757 aircraft, providing a direct option for travelers who previously had to connect through other hubs. The nonstop flight reduces travel time and simplifies logistics for passengers traveling for business, tourism, or family visits.

This Dublin route is the second recent international expansion for the Minneapolis–Saint Paul market. Earlier, Delta Air Lines announced service to Seoul (ICN), scheduled to begin April 1, 2019, further expanding long-haul options from the region.

The new Aer Lingus service strengthens MSP’s role as an international gateway and offers travelers in Minnesota greater access to Europe. With improved nonstop choices, local businesses gain easier access to European partners and markets, while travelers gain more convenient routes for both short and extended trips to Ireland and beyond.

Passengers interested in the new nonstop flights can check Aer Lingus for schedules and availability. The service aims to meet growing demand for direct transatlantic connections from the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area and to support regional economic development through enhanced global access.
