GETTING THERE
Visitors from the United States and many other countries receive a complimentary entry visa on arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport, located about 24 miles southeast of downtown Abu Dhabi. Taxi fares from the airport typically start around $30, and regular public buses provide an affordable alternative. The green-and-white A1 buses run every 40 minutes around the clock; a one-way ticket costs roughly $1. Etihad Airways also offers complimentary door-to-door limousine service for first- and business-class passengers.

GETTING AROUND
Travel around the city by metered taxi or Abu Dhabi’s modern, air-conditioned bus network. Metered taxis charge a modest starting fee during daytime hours and add incremental charges per distance traveled; late-night rates are slightly higher. Buses run 24 hours and offer very low fares, making public transport an economical and reliable option for visitors.
