Abu Dhabi International Airport News & Travel Updates

Despite the increase in fine-dining options and upscale shopping in airport terminals worldwide, frequent travelers — particularly those who regularly take long-haul flights — still value the comfort and privacy of an airport lounge.

Faced with the choice of public terminal amenities, standard airport lounges, or a more exclusive option, experienced travelers often choose the third: the airport VIP terminal. This option delivers a level of service and seclusion that few passengers experience.

Operated by Pearl Assist, the VIP Terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport provides a wide range of premium services for arriving, departing and transiting travelers. The 9,945-square-foot facility, located adjacent to the main terminals, includes eight private sitting areas known as Majlis. The décor blends Arabian and European design influences. Seven of the Majlis are named after scenic regions of the United Arab Emirates — Amwaj, Bihar, Al Waha, Al Rawda, Murooj, Rawabi and Sahara — while the eighth, the EMC Mercedes-Benz Majlis, highlights a partnership with the luxury automaker. On-site amenities include modern rain showers with quality toiletries, business services such as printing, and a smokers’ lounge.

Departing guests using the VIP Terminal access it via a private road and take advantage of dedicated check-in and immigration facilities inside the terminal. Service agents manage airport formalities and baggage check-in, and when it’s time to board a private limousine transfers guests directly to the aircraft.

Arrivals are greeted at the aircraft by a driver and taken by private limousine to the VIP Terminal. There they can relax in a Majlis while dedicated staff collect luggage and prepare it for onward transport to the guest’s final destination.

Transit passengers are similarly met and chauffeured to the VIP Terminal to rest between flights. During their stay, service agents confirm connection formalities and arrange a private transfer to the connecting aircraft at boarding time.

Additional optional services include fresh floral arrangements for arriving or departing guests and door-to-door luggage transfers within the United Arab Emirates.

These premium services carry a premium price. Guests can reserve the Royal Majlis private seating for departing or arriving travel at approximately $545 for up to two people, with additional guests charged at roughly $95 per person. For transit stays, a Majlis is available for up to two guests at about $820, with extra guests costing approximately $135 each.
