Silvercar Adds More Cars to Its Rental Fleet Across U.S.

Silvercar, an app-based car rental service, has expanded into Salt Lake City and plans to double its airport operations by the end of the year.

Acquired by Audi in 2017, Silvercar has grown by offering a fleet of signature silver Audi A4 vehicles in major U.S. markets such as Seattle and Orlando. The new Utah location began accepting reservations in December and opened to customers on January 8.

“Most car renters settle for a lot of unacceptable experiences when they travel,” said Chris Donus, COO of Silvercar. “They wait in long lines, they never know what vehicle they’re going to get, and frankly the industry has missed a huge opportunity to offer people the premium mobility options they deserve.”

“We’ve always been laser-focused on delivering a better customer experience with an innovative, premium, mobile-first approach and our rapid, sustained growth reflects that,” Donus added. “Now, as part of the Audi family, 2018 will be a transformational year for Silvercar, as we set our sights on fast-paced expansion and several exciting new offerings.”

The Salt Lake City location brings Silvercar’s total to 18 airports nationwide. Other markets include New York City, Chicago, Austin, Miami, San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Denver.

Each Audi A4 in the Silvercar fleet comes equipped with onboard Wi-Fi, GPS navigation and SiriusXM radio. The company emphasizes a straightforward pricing model with no fuel-up charges, no mileage restrictions and no additional fees for tolls, aiming to simplify the rental process and deliver a consistent, premium experience for travelers.

By focusing on a mobile-first booking experience, standardized vehicles and clear pricing, Silvercar targets customers who prefer a faster, more predictable alternative to traditional airport rental counters. The Salt Lake City expansion supports the company’s broader goal of rapid growth across U.S. airports while maintaining a consistent level of service and amenities.
