Last December, Radisson RED Galway opened as the first Radisson RED property in Ireland. Situated in Crown Square, a striking new neighborhood between Monivea Road and Joyce’s Road and just a 10-minute drive from Galway city center, the upscale hotel blends food, art, music and contemporary design to create a welcoming stay in a city renowned for its cultural life, live music and sports.

Developed by Rhatigan Group — the team behind projects such as Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin and the Dublin Convention Centre — the hotel was designed by the prominent Ireland-based architect Henry J Lyons.
Radisson RED Galway offers a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere, where upscale finishes meet playful, contemporary detailing. An open-plan layout encourages fluid movement between shared spaces, centered around an interactive bar and a comfortable lounge. The interiors mix dark walnut tones with vivid reds and brass accents; antique mirrors and a brass-rod staircase add character. A south-facing terrace provides an outdoor spot for guests to enjoy Galway’s milder days.

The hotel has 177 guestrooms and suites that showcase the brand’s hallmark of bold design and practical comfort. Rooms combine chic furnishings with striking artwork and large windows that invite natural light. Each guestroom is arranged to support both relaxation and productivity, and complimentary WiFi is available throughout the property.
“We are proud to have brought this new, high-quality destination hotel to Galway,” said Padraic Rhatigan, principal of Rhatigan Group. “Radisson RED is a great fit for our city, with leisure and business travelers enjoying the design and sophisticated offerings in the hotel and the city.”

The hotel integrates modern technology to meet the needs of tech-savvy guests. Self-service kiosks simplify check-in and check-out for a smoother arrival and departure experience. Wireless charging points are available throughout the property, and guestrooms are equipped with up-to-date tech amenities to help guests stay connected.
Dining at Radisson RED Galway focuses on local ingredients and contemporary interpretations of Irish cuisine. The Claddagh Bar & Grill, located on the ground floor, offers a stylish yet approachable setting with subtle nods to local heritage, including Claddagh motifs and warm wooden accents. The restaurant serves meals daily from noon to 9 p.m.; reservations are recommended.

Lena’s Rooftop Bar & Restaurant occupies the top floor and seats up to 140 guests, offering panoramic views across Galway Bay and the city. Open for lunch and dinner, Lena’s presents signature cocktails and a modern take on traditional Irish dishes, with menus built around high-quality local produce.
For business and events, the hotel provides nine versatile meeting rooms across two floors, totaling more than 4,000 square feet of event space. The contemporary, technology-equipped rooms accommodate a range of gatherings from corporate conferences to intimate workshops and social events. A private meeting room offers a focused space for small groups, while the adjacent Writers Room functions as a semi-private networking area, ideal for informal meetings and relaxed conversations over coffee or light refreshments.
Radisson RED Galway benefits from convenient road connections. It sits close to the M6 motorway, which links Galway to Dublin in about two hours, and to the M18 motorway heading south toward Limerick.
