Dale Chihuly: First Major Garden Exhibition in New York City

New York City’s most anticipated art event of the year is CHIHULY at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. This marks the first major Chihuly garden exhibition in New York in more than a decade.

Opening through Oct. 29, the exhibition presents roughly 20 installations alongside drawings and early works that trace Dale Chihuly’s artistic development. Placed within the Botanical Garden’s landmark landscape and historic buildings, the display offers a rich, sensory experience that changes with the seasons.

The Garden’s scenery serves as a living backdrop for Chihuly’s work, highlighting his signature organic shapes in vivid color. A notable new installation, inspired by Chihuly’s 1975 Artpark project, animates the water features in the Native Plant Garden and the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory Courtyard’s Tropical Pool, where pools and reflections amplify the movement of color and light.

Chihuly Nights adds another dimension: specially lit installations transform the grounds into an atmospheric evening display. Visitors can see the sculptures illuminated on Saturdays through June 24; Thursdays in July and August; and Thursdays through Saturdays in September and October, from 6:30–10:30 p.m., allowing the glass forms to glow against twilight and night skies.

Ticket prices are tiered: non-member adults are $35 and children ages 2–12 are $15; member adults are $25 and children are $10.

To simplify travel and lodging, Grand Hyatt New York has partnered with the Garden and Metro-North Railroad on a combined offer for visitors. Located at Grand Central Terminal, the Grand Hyatt provides convenient access to the Botanical Garden via Metro-North’s direct service, with a travel time of about 20 minutes from the hotel to the exhibition.

The exclusive Chihuly package includes a 10 percent discount on Grand Hyatt room rates with code NYBG at booking, round-trip Metro-North tickets for two from Grand Central Terminal to The New York Botanical Garden, admission for two to the Chihuly exhibition, and select shopping and dining discounts at the Garden, along with hotel reservation options at Grand Hyatt New York.
