Meliá Launches New Hotel Brand in Chile

Meliá Hotels International has announced plans to introduce its Innside by Meliá brand to Santiago, Chile, with an opening scheduled for 2014. The new Innside Santiago will be situated in the city’s financial and commercial district and will offer 120 guest rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a fitness center and more than 2,600 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.

Company leadership expressed enthusiasm about the expansion into Chile. “Our company is very excited about the prospect of operating in Chile, in particular with Innside by Meliá, a brand that is proving to be a revelation in the city hotel industry,” said Gabriel Escarrer, vice chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International. The Innside concept focuses on modern city hotels tailored to business and leisure travelers seeking contemporary design, practical amenities and vibrant social spaces.

The Innside brand has been growing internationally, with properties across Europe and beyond. At the time of the announcement, the portfolio included multiple locations in Germany, several in Madrid, and single properties in Manchester, Copenhagen and Indonesia. The Santiago opening represents a strategic step to strengthen the brand’s presence in Latin America and to serve travelers visiting Chile’s capital for business and tourism.

The proposed Innside Santiago will meet demand from corporate clients and event planners by combining convenient city-center location with meeting facilities and on-site services. With 120 rooms and more than 2,600 square feet of event space, the hotel is designed to host small to medium-sized meetings, corporate functions and social gatherings while providing guests with contemporary dining and wellness options.

By locating the hotel in Santiago’s financial and commercial hub, Meliá aims to provide easy access to local businesses, financial institutions and transportation links. The restaurant and bar will offer on-site dining and social opportunities, while the fitness center will serve guests looking to maintain their routines while traveling.

This expansion aligns with Meliá Hotels International’s broader strategy of growing its urban hotel portfolio under the Innside brand, which emphasizes design-led interiors, practical services for business travelers and dynamic public areas for social interaction. The planned Innside Santiago, opening in 2014, underscores the company’s commitment to expanding into key city markets and enhancing its offerings for both business and leisure guests.
