A new app from CycleCast lets you turn a hotel gym stationary bike into a private spin class whenever it suits your schedule. Sessions are led by experienced instructors, including spinning master Isabel Schaefer, Kevin Mondrick of BFX Studio, and Jess Walsh of New York Sports Club/Crank. Workouts are offered in 20-, 45- and 60-minute lengths and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. The app supports iPhone models 5, 5c, 5s, 6, 6 Plus and iPod touch running iOS 8 or later.
For people who prefer walking and enjoy discovering cities on foot but struggle with directions, Walc offers a hands-free walking navigation app that provides simple voice guidance from point A to point B without detours. Instructions are given using visible landmarks—phrases like “turn right at the coffee shop” refer to places you can actually see ahead. Pocket Mode allows walkers to hear directions while carrying bags or keeping their hands in their pockets. The app is available for download from Google Play and the Apple App Store and works alongside popular music apps such as iPlay and Spotify.
