Langham Hospitality Group will open its first Langham Hotels and Resorts luxury city hotel in the United Arab Emirates in partnership with Omniyat, the Dubai-based real estate developer. The property is scheduled to open in 2018 and marks the brand’s entry into Dubai’s competitive luxury hospitality market.
Situated in the Burj Khalifa district, Langham Place Downtown Dubai occupies approximately 680,838 square feet. The $273 million development includes a five-star luxury hotel and serviced apartments, bringing a total of 438 units to Dubai’s hospitality inventory.
Mahdi Amjad, CEO of Omniyat, commented on the project’s role in the city’s growth: “As a Dubai-based company, we are committed to contributing to the city’s iconic skyline with innovative real estate concepts. The launch of Langham Place Downtown Dubai therefore complements Dubai’s strategic tourism vision to annually attract 20 million visitors by 2020.”
With prominent views of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Water Canal, the hotel will offer 167 guest rooms and convenient access to key areas including Downtown Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid City, Business Bay and the upcoming Dubai Design District. The location also provides proximity to major business and events hubs such as Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai International Financial Centre, making it suitable for both leisure and business travelers.
The hotel’s facilities are designed to meet varied guest needs. Food and beverage options will include four distinct outlets: an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop bar and lounge, a specialty restaurant, and a salon serving the brand’s signature afternoon tea. For meetings and events, the property will include more than 4,300 square feet of flexible event space suitable for corporate functions and social galas.
Langham Place Downtown Dubai will also feature the group’s signature Chuan Body and Soul spa. Treatments at the spa draw on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine and incorporate the five elemental forces—wood, fire, earth, metal and water—to deliver a holistic wellness experience.
Dr. Lo Ka Shui, executive chairman of Langham Hospitality Group, praised the collaboration: “With Omniyat’s vast experience in developing luxury properties with cutting-edge architecture and design, we are delighted to manage this hotel in such a premium location in this dynamic city.”
