Tour operator Up Norway invites food-focused travelers on an elegant 14-day Culinary Discovery Route that showcases Norway’s rich and evolving food culture. Designed for just six guests, this immersive itinerary blends Michelin-level dining, hands-on culinary workshops, local tours and opportunities to forage, fish and learn from the producers themselves.

Day 1–3

The trip begins in Bergen with a guided culinary walking tour that introduces guests to regional specialties and local beverages. On day two, travelers embark on a private fjord adventure: fishing, foraging and preparing the day’s fresh catch with guidance from local chefs. Day three includes a visit to Feddie Ocean Distillery to discover ocean-aging techniques used in whiskey production. Each evening features refined dining at noted Bergen restaurants such as Colonialen, BARE or Lysverket.

Day 4–5

Next, explore Bekkjarvik Harbor and visit Ostegården, an award-winning farm renowned for its cheeses. Guests will learn traditional cheesemaking techniques, participate in cooking classes and have time to wander the island. Meals include fresh, seaside dining at Olaskjæret, where local ingredients and coastal views take center stage.

Day 6–7

The route continues to Rosendal for a private tour of a cider farm followed by an exceptional dining experience at Iris/Salmon Eye. The floating restaurant and artistic installation create a memorable setting that highlights seafood and regional produce in creative presentations.

Day 8

Drive a scenic route through Ryfylke, taking in dramatic fjords and mountain scenery before an evening meal at Energihotellet. Guests will also enjoy a tasting of traditional Norwegian farmhouse ales to learn about regional brewing traditions.

Day 9–10

Experience a salmon safari that combines a guided river tour and a hike, complemented by expert-led talks on salmon behavior and habitat conservation. The safari offers close-up encounters with Norway’s salmon rivers and insight into sustainable fishing practices.
