New Dining Options Coming to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Dining at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport is about to become far more appealing. United Airlines and airport hospitality and experience firm OTG have announced a significant expansion of food and retail options across the airline’s terminals at the airport, promising a wider selection of local flavors and faster service.

The centerpiece of the program is a renovation of the C-North Terminal, accompanied by new dining lineups for C-South and Terminal E. Alongside the refreshed restaurant lineup, OTG will deploy approximately 8,000 tablets across the three terminals to streamline ordering and checkout, improving speed and convenience for travelers.

Gavin Molloy, vice president of corporate real estate at United Airlines, explained the goal behind the upgrades: “We continue to improve the customer experience for travelers at our Houston hub. The additional dining and retail options planned for Terminals C-South and E, combined with the offerings we’ll feature in our brand-new Terminal C-North, will provide an unparalleled ‘taste of Houston’ for local travelers and visitors alike.” The focus on local concepts aims to give passengers a true sense of Houston’s culinary scene while they wait for flights.

Among the announced concepts are Magnolia Meatball Shop, offering comforting, made-to-order meatball dishes; Agave, serving Tex‑Mex favorites; H‑Burger, featuring locally sourced burgers; Q, specializing in classic barbecue; and Beerhive, focused on craft beers and microbrews. These selections reflect a mix of comfort food, regional specialties, and beverage options intended to satisfy a broad range of traveler preferences.

Rick Blatstein, chief executive officer of OTG, noted the months of planning behind the launch: “Our team at OTG has been working hard for months to bring Houston a re-imagined terminal experience at Bush Intercontinental. With the announcement of these expanded concepts, we are one step closer to making that a reality for Houston’s travelers.” The collaboration aims to pair improved food and retail with technology-driven service enhancements to reduce wait times and increase customer satisfaction.

The renovation and vendor rollouts are positioned to enhance the overall passenger experience by combining a broad culinary selection with operational improvements. The large tablet deployment is designed to reduce friction at peak times, enabling faster ordering, payment, and pickup. Travelers can expect a more efficient flow through concessions as the terminals adopt these new systems.

By highlighting locally inspired dining options and investing in service technology, United and OTG are targeting both convenience and authenticity. Passengers flying through Terminals C-South, C-North, and E should see phased openings and progressive improvements as the upgrades move forward, offering more reasons to arrive early and enjoy quality dining at the airport.

As the project progresses, the expanded dining roster and upgraded terminals aim to strengthen Houston Bush Intercontinental’s reputation as a hub that combines operational efficiency with a vibrant food and retail environment tailored to the city’s tastes.
