Family Dinosaur Dig Sites in Georgia: Hands-On Fossil Adventures

While remote work has many advantages, parents often need engaging activities to occupy their children. Plant Riverside District in Savannah, Georgia, offers a family-friendly solution with its Ultimate Dinosaur Adventure at Generator Hall.

This immersive geology and natural science experience transports kids to a prehistoric world led by Dusty the Dino Ranger. Designed for Junior Explorers ages 6–12, the program includes interactive games and activities such as crafts, trivia, music, a Dino dig, a fossil drop, and a graduation gameshow that celebrates each child’s accomplishments.

Participants receive a Passport of Discovery to track hidden dinosaurs and complete challenges throughout Generator Hall. As children collect stamps from each activity, they build a memorable keepsake and a record of what they’ve learned on their journey through time.

Young paleontologists also gain hands-on educational experiences. They learn about excavation tools and geological processes, including how geodes form over millions of years, and get a chance to create their own small geode project during the event.

Reservations are available at the front desk or by phone at (912) 373-9100. The cost is $40 per child, with up to 20 participants per session. For safety, each explorer receives a dinosaur mask and follows guided ropes to maintain appropriate spacing during activities.
