On Charleston, South Carolina’s historic Upper King Street, you’ll find the new Nickel Hotel, a 50-room luxury property that blends Charleston charm with contemporary décor.

After the success of its sister property, The Pinch, Method Co. has brought its second hotel to life with elegant guestrooms and suites, a lush interior courtyard, a library, a guest-only cocktail bar, and more. The Nickel Hotel’s lobby sets the tone with hand-painted porcelain plaster and a large antique French tapestry that introduces the refined yet welcoming aesthetic found throughout the property.
Guestrooms and suites are designed to feel like a comfortable home away from home. Each unit includes a full-sized kitchen outfitted with built-in Bosch appliances and honed marble countertops, distinct dining and lounge areas, an LG washer and dryer, and custom-designed furniture. Decorative touches such as House of Hackney wallpaper, Nordic Knot Scandinavian rugs, and Gubi coffee tables create a stylish, layered look. Guests can choose rooms that face the tranquil interior courtyard or the lively King Street; many rooms also include private balconies.

The interior courtyard is a signature feature: three stories of ornate wrought-iron balconies, warm terracotta tones, a wood-burning fireplace, and a two-tiered fountain create a peaceful, European-inspired setting. Lush greenery winds across the space, forming an oasis at the heart of Charleston and a calm retreat from the bustle of the street.

Overlooking the courtyard is The Parlour, a private event space and listening room stocked with a curated vinyl collection. Other notable hotel features include Bar Daniel, a second-floor guest lounge serving craft cocktails and espresso, and the soon-to-open Rosemary Rose rooftop lounge. Planned for later this summer, Rosemary Rose will offer 360-degree city views and a hacienda-style environment where guests can enjoy a thoughtfully chosen menu of cocktails and light bites.
