A 19th-century architectural landmark on Nice’s iconic Promenade des Anglais, Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel now offers a new immersive World of Silence freediving experience led by Arthur Guérin-Boëri, a celebrated French freediver, five-time world champion and world record holder. The program — featured as a half-day lesson — invites visitors to discover the French Riviera from beneath the waves with expert instruction and mindful ocean connection.

Guérin-Boëri emphasizes that freediving is more than breath-holding: “Although breath-holding is an important aspect of the experience, it’s just one element of freediving. For me, it’s mostly about connecting with the ocean’s heartbeat,” he explains. The course focuses on building confidence, extending time underwater safely and blending with the marine environment to create calm, low-impact encounters with sea life.
The World of Silence experience begins on Passable Beach with guided breathwork, relaxation and preparation sessions designed to ready participants physically and mentally for the underwater portion. Drawing on decades of competitive experience, Guérin-Boëri teaches accessible techniques for breath control, equalization and mindfulness that suit beginners and more experienced freedivers alike.

After the ocean session, guests can extend their relaxation with the Oceanic Bliss Ritual at Anantara Spa for an additional fee. This multisensory treatment uses sea-inspired products from Thalion and combines an exfoliating scrub, a tailored massage and a nourishing body mask to soothe muscles and support recovery after freediving.
The half-day World of Silence freediving experience is priced from $1,536 per person, with a two-person option at $1,865 and group dives available for up to four participants. Suitable for travelers seeking active, mindful marine experiences, the program pairs professional instruction with the heritage and luxury of Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel on the French Riviera.
