Qatar Airways has leased four Airbus A350 aircraft from LATAM for a period of six to twelve months. These aircraft entered revenue service on March 2 and began operating on the Doha (DOH)–Munich (MUC) route, flown and serviced by Qatar Airways pilots and cabin crew.
The four A350s retain LATAM’s interior configuration, each featuring 30 business-class seats and 309 economy seats. By comparison, Qatar Airways’ own A350s are configured with 36 business-class seats and 247 economy seats, reflecting a different cabin layout and seat density.
“To meet growing demand for our services, Qatar Airways has entered into an agreement with LATAM Airlines Group to secure up to four A350 aircraft for up to one year,” said Akbar Al Baker, chief executive of Qatar Airways Group. “The A350, for which Qatar Airways was the global launch customer, is one of the most technologically advanced aircraft in service today. Thanks to our strong partnership with LATAM, we can respond to rising customer demand in the short term with an innovative solution.”
With these additions, Qatar Airways’ total A350 operating fleet reaches 15 aircraft. The airline recently took delivery of its 14th A350 prior to bringing the four leased LATAM aircraft into service.
