To better accommodate business travelers and passengers with demanding schedules, Lufthansa Group has introduced a helpful new option. Starting this month, travelers on Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines or SWISS who hold economy flex or flexible business class fares — as well as certain corporate-rate bookings — can rebook their return ticket to an earlier flight on the same day without incurring a fee.
There are some conditions to note. Rebooking can only be completed on the day of travel and is subject to seat availability in the relevant cabin (economy or business). For Lufthansa-operated flights, passengers may request the free same-day earlier rebooking through the airline’s website, mobile app, or at airport check-in kiosks and counters. For Austrian Airlines and SWISS flights, the rebooking must be handled at an airport check-in kiosk or counter.
Certain restrictions apply. The option is not valid for codeshare flights, for passengers who have already checked baggage for their originally booked departure, or for those who have purchased additional ancillary services such as in-flight meals or upgrades. Any newly issued ticket must follow the same routing as the original booking.
