Dallas Fort Worth International Airport expects 7.7 million travelers between Nov. 21 and Jan. 2, 2018, a 3.2 percent increase compared with the same period last year. The airport is preparing to welcome passengers with extra holiday cheer and enhanced services to make travel smoother and more enjoyable.
“DFW is a big part of the holiday travel experience for customers, whether they’re leaving Texas and heading around the world, or being reunited with family and friends in Dallas Fort Worth. Whether it’s decorations, entertainment or friendly assistance from a member of our team, we want to be the reason people smile when they come through DFW over the holidays,” said Ken Buchanan, executive vice president of revenue management, DFW.
Throughout the holiday season, travelers will find festive decorations across Terminals A–D, highlighted by a 37-foot Christmas tree near gate D30. Santa’s Workshop will operate at A13 and D36 from Dec. 8 through Jan. 2, 2018, featuring singers, dancers and other entertainers. Daily surprises and giveaways from concessionaires and performers will add to the family-friendly atmosphere.
In addition to seasonal offerings, DFW has introduced several year-round amenities to improve the traveler experience. A new 24-hour cell phone lot provides short-term, two-hour parking for visitors picking up or dropping off travelers; the lot includes 53 spaces, bright lighting and an emergency blue light phone for safety and convenience.
New dining and shopping options have been added across the airport’s terminals to serve a range of tastes and needs. Passengers can now find Bubble Zones by Coca-Cola, Eddie Bauer, IHOP Express, Southwest News, Caribou Coffee, Einstein Bros. Bagels and Code 3 Urgent Care and Pharmacy among other retailers and eateries, ensuring more choices for meals, shopping and health services while on the go.
These seasonal and permanent improvements reflect DFW’s focus on hospitality and convenience during one of the busiest travel periods of the year, aiming to create a pleasant, efficient experience for both departing and connecting passengers.
