Vintage Bicycle Tour Through California Wine Country: Scenic Wine Trail Rides

Hosted each year in six locations around the world, Eroica—Italy’s celebrated vintage bicycle ride—added California to its 2015 calendar. On April 11–12, riders depart on one of three scenic routes that begin and end in Paso Robles. Entrants must ride bicycles built before 1988, preserving the event’s classic spirit. The two-day festival that accompanies the rides features live music and a World-Class Vintage Bicycle Concours d’Élégance, a curated exhibition of vintage road racing bicycles from private collections.

In local wine news, Lusso Della Terra Cellars has opened a new tasting room highlighting Sangiovese and Zinfandel alongside the cellar’s Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Paso Underground, a communal tasting room representing several regional wineries, recently added Dilécta Wines to its roster. Located next to Villa Creek Restaurant in downtown Paso Robles, with both indoor and outdoor patio seating, Paso Underground offers an excellent opportunity to sample boutique wines from producers such as Aaron, Dilécta, Edmond August and Turtle Rock Vineyards.
