Four Seasons has announced the opening of its first mountain resort in France, timed for the 2018 winter ski season in the Haute-Savoie region of the Alps.
The Four Seasons Hotel Megève is part of a broader development in partnership with luxury hospitality group Edmond de Rothschild Heritage. Alongside the construction of this upscale mountain resort, the project includes the restoration and conversion of a collection of traditional chalets in the historic Mont d’Arbois village.
These renovated chalets will provide guests with an alternative lodging option within the heart of the village. Mont d’Arbois offers Michelin-starred dining, well-preserved Alpine architecture, charming cobblestone streets and quick access to the slopes, making it an attractive base for both winter sports and leisurely stays.
The Haute-Savoie alpine range is a leading ski destination, featuring more than 130 groomed alpine runs, consistent snowfall and high-quality terrain. The resort will present a wide array of winter activities, such as heli-skiing, dog sledding and glacier snowshoeing. In warmer months, visitors can enjoy vivid gardens and extensive hiking trails. Four Seasons will also manage the 18-hole Golf du Mont d’Arbois, a course designed by three-time British Open champion Sir Henry Cotton.
Set among the scenic peaks of Haute-Savoie, the 55-room Four Seasons Megève will face Mont Blanc, the tallest peak in the Alps. Beyond its prime location, guests can expect the high level of service and amenities associated with the Four Seasons brand.
Allen Smith, president and CEO of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, commented that Megève’s combination of Alpine charm and refined sophistication has long drawn luxury travelers from across Europe and beyond, and that the company looks forward to welcoming guests to experience Megève throughout the year.
This new property represents Four Seasons’ third destination in France and expands its ski portfolio to five locations worldwide.
