Part of the Marriott Bonvoy Autograph Collection, the 317-room Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge has introduced a new luxury offering: the Black Diamond Club. Located in Alberta’s stunning Kananaskis Valley, this exclusive club opened in May and redefines mountain hospitality by combining refined comfort with direct access to year-round alpine adventure.

Just an hour west of Calgary, the Black Diamond Club is a hotel-within-a-hotel concept occupying three private floors and offering 71 newly renovated rooms and suites. Each accommodation is designed to reflect the surrounding wilderness, with premium bedding, soft jersey robes, artisanal wellness products, and curated in-room beverage rituals that include Jolene’s Tea House selections and Nespresso coffee.
“The Black Diamond Club expansion marks an exciting milestone for the Lodge,” said Liz Hovey-Smith, general manager of Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. “We’re thrilled to welcome guests to this exclusive part of our resort and offer them an escape from the ordinary.”

Central to the Black Diamond Club experience is a guest-first approach that blends backcountry adventure with attentive service. A dedicated Adventure Concierge helps craft personalized itineraries across Kananaskis Country, arranging activities such as horseback rides along alpine trails, fly-fishing in glacier-fed lakes, and guided nature excursions. The club welcomes solo travelers, families and corporate groups, and the property—about 70 minutes from Calgary International Airport—can be booked for full group buyouts, complete with private dining and exclusive access to resort amenities.
Visitors to the lodge have access to an extensive outdoor playground: more than 745 miles of hiking and biking trails, a world-class 36-hole golf course, 47 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails, and nearby downhill skiing at Nakiska Ski Area. Winter offerings include dog sledding through snow-draped forests, while the on-site 50,000-square-foot Nordic Spa provides hydrotherapy and massage treatments in a tranquil alpine setting.

Nearby, the resort’s five dining venues offer varied culinary experiences, from a classic Canadian steakhouse to a cozy après-ski chalet, ensuring guests have a range of dining options steps from the Club.
