Mandarin Oriental Atlanta: Luxury Hotel & Spa Guide

Arrival/Check-In: After a long day of meetings in Atlanta, the publisher of GT and I arrived at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta, in Buckhead. The hotel is easy to find and sits directly across from Del Frisco’s Steakhouse. A welcoming valet attendant swiftly took our luggage and guided us to the front desk. Two staff members handled our check-in efficiently; after back-to-back appointments, the quick and smooth process was much appreciated.

Guest Quarters: My room, a Mandarin Premier, felt both spacious and refined. The bedroom featured a king-sized bed, a comfortable seating area with chair and ottoman, and a large desk with plenty of workspace and accessible outlets. A short hallway led to a sizable closet and a full-length mirror. The bathroom was generous, with dual sinks, a separate shower and bathtub, and a TV viewable from both the bedroom and bath. Whether traveling alone for business or with a guest, the room balances comfort and practicality.

Services/Amenities: The hotel provides a range of amenities designed to meet diverse guest needs. The Café & Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner; we hosted a client meeting there in the morning and enjoyed cocktails at the bar later in the evening.

The property is also known for its exceptional spa and wellness offerings. I had time to experience The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta, which spans two floors and creates an immediate sense of calm. From the front desk attendant to the therapist, service was attentive and professional. Prior to my Oriental Essence Massage I could have used the steam room, sauna and vitality pool, but I chose to relax first in the quiet relaxation room. The Oriental Essence Massage targets key stress points and is particularly suited to business travelers. After treatments, guests are encouraged to unwind in the 60-foot saline lap pool. The spa also includes a yoga studio, a fitness center, a boutique, and a women’s outdoor terrace and lounge. Overall the spa delivers a true luxury experience and left a memorable impression.

The Experience: Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta serves both business and leisure travelers effectively. As a five-star property, it met expectations in service, comfort and location. Situated in the heart of Buckhead, the hotel is convenient for dining, shopping and business, and the proximity to Del Frisco’s Steakhouse makes dinner outings effortless when you prefer not to drive.

From the well-appointed rooms to the calming spa, the Mandarin Oriental helped me unwind after a busy day of appointments. The staff’s friendly professionalism—especially the doorman and valet team—stood out and contributed to an overall positive stay. I would gladly return on a future trip.
