British Airways will become the only airline offering a nonstop flight between the United Kingdom and Pittsburgh beginning next April, launching a year-round service between Pittsburgh (PIT) and London Heathrow (LHR). The carrier will operate four flights per week on this route.
The new service marks British Airways’ 26th destination in the United States and will be operated with the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. Flights are scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Departures from London are set for 5:00 p.m., with arrivals in Pittsburgh at 8:15 p.m. Return departures from Pittsburgh are at 9:50 p.m., arriving in London at 10:25 a.m. the following day.
Sean Doyle, British Airways’ director of network and alliances, commented that the airline is pleased to add Pittsburgh to its global network of more than 250 destinations. He highlighted the rollout of Wi-Fi on long-haul flights and continued investments in both ground and onboard customer experience, saying the airline is proud to support high-quality transatlantic travel.
This announcement is part of a broader expansion for British Airways, which is introducing 16 new routes this year. Among those additions is a direct service to Nashville (BNA) that began in March.
