Twenty elaborately decorated trees are displayed throughout the hotel, each designed and adorned by local groups such as Hopewell Cancer Center, the American Institute of Architects Baltimore, Baltimore City Community College, B&Dee’s Love, and South Church. The displays remain on view through the end of the year, and a private gathering will determine the winning designs based on voter selections.
“We are thrilled to once again welcome the magic of the season to the Lord Baltimore Hotel,” said Sheila Wiegandt, managing director of the hotel. “From the stunning couture trees to the delightful finds at The Holiday Shoppe and the cozy ambiance of LB Bistro and Bakery, we invite everyone to experience the warmth and wonder of the holidays with us.”

In addition to the Couture Tree Competition, the hotel presents a range of seasonal activities. On Dec. 6 the Gingerbread Rowhome Build, produced in partnership with the Baltimore Architecture Foundation at The Center for Architecture and Design, invites guests to construct and decorate gingerbread rowhomes inspired by the city’s architectural character. The event runs from 1:30 to 3 p.m., and kits are available for purchase at LB Bistro & Bakery or through the event registration page.
Hotel guests enjoy several seasonal perks, including complimentary hot chocolate vouchers and special promotions tied to local holiday attractions. Guests also receive access to themed experiences at the 2025 Christmas Village in Baltimore and can take part in the Historic Charles Street Window Display Contest. Families are invited to register for Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 15 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., a festive morning that offers a seasonal meal and a chance to meet Santa.
The Lord Baltimore Hotel’s holiday programming highlights community partnerships and family-friendly events while showcasing the property’s historic charm. Between the couture trees, holiday shopping at The Holiday Shoppe, and hands-on activities like the gingerbread build, the hotel creates a welcoming seasonal destination for visitors and locals alike throughout December.
