Finnair has introduced new signature menus as part of a refreshed in-flight meal program. Designed by respected Finnish chefs Pekka Terävä and Tomi Björck, the menus offer both meat-based and vegetarian choices that combine Nordic ingredients with Asian-inspired flavors. The new dishes showcase Finnish specialties such as reindeer filet with mushroom purée and seasonal fish, alongside items influenced by Asian cuisine like Japanese-style ramen noodles, spicy salmon preparations, and butternut squash seasoned with Asian spices.
“In-flight dining is an important part of a distinctive travel experience,” said Maarit Keränen, head of service concept at Finnair. “Both Pekka and Tomi bring a fresh approach that stands apart from the mainstream. Pekka Terävä’s classic Nordic flavors align naturally with Finnair’s identity, while Tomi Björck’s Finnish interpretation of Asian cuisine complements our Eastward focus. We expect the new menus to delight passengers and to raise the international profile of Finnish culinary culture.”
The signature menus are being served to business class passengers on long-haul flights throughout the autumn season, with the exception of services to Chongqing (CKG), Xi’an (XIY) and Hanoi (HAN).
