Luxo Italia, a Milan-based company specializing in bespoke, authentic luxury travel throughout Italy and Monaco, is offering a traditional Olive Harvesting Experience each October and November during the annual harvest season. Guests join experienced local olive farmers to take part in the harvest, gaining hands-on exposure to the techniques and traditions behind olive cultivation. The program includes demonstrations of olive oil extraction and production, with participants learning how quality is determined at each stage.
Visitors leave with a freshly bottled olive oil labeled with a personalized tag, enjoy a countryside lunch among the olive trees, and can choose to relax with an olive-oil massage. The itinerary also includes a visit to one of Italy’s oldest wine cellars, known for early Chianti production, and a stop in the medieval village of Il Borro to tour a Tuscan degustation center and sample regional specialities.
The company was founded by hotel expert Andrea Degasperi and culinary connoisseur Paul Lewis and focuses on customized itineraries that highlight the history, culture and art of each destination. Travelers can immerse themselves in wine, fashion and culinary pursuits tailored to personal interests, with private guides and curated experiences designed to reveal local traditions and craftsmanship.
During the Olive Harvesting Experience, accommodations are provided in a deluxe suite at Il Borro, a Relais & Châteaux property owned by Salvatore Ferragamo that features 35 suites and an on-site organic farm. The three-night program starts at €6,300 per person based on double occupancy. Price includes VIP airport assistance, private transfers by luxury car, and 24/7 personal assistance by phone. Additional private day trips to Florence, Siena and Arezzo can be arranged to extend the experience and explore nearby cultural highlights.
