Experience 1970s Glamour at Lily’s: Multi-Sensory Restaurant & Nightclub in Brussels

London design studio SZ Design unveiled its latest project, Lily’s Restaurant & Club in Brussels, Belgium — an adults-only restaurant and nightclub that channels the glamour and warmth of the 1970s in the heart of the Belgian capital.

Opened in March 2023, Lily’s transformed a previously nondescript venue into an elegant dining and entertainment destination with a confident, flirtatious energy. SZ Design developed the full concept, creative direction and interior design, including bespoke furnishings manufactured to match the venue’s character. Notable finishes include marble-clad walls with reflective detailing and carefully curated custom furniture.

SZ Design created a cohesive environment that balances a Mediterranean sensibility with 1970s glamour. The restaurant seats 150 across three distinct areas and serves lunch and dinner, while a bar and nightclub operate on weekends. The main dining room uses an earthy palette of warm amber, burnt orange and deep browns, with plush seating and upholstered chairs that form intimate corners for relaxed conversation. A cocoon-like zone features marble-clad walls, a mirrored ceiling and luxurious carpets, inviting guests into a nostalgic night of romance and revelry.

At the rear, a spacious indoor terrace offers terracotta velvet banquettes, biscuit-colored rattan chairs and two-tone wooden tables. Large windows flood the space with daylight, making it an ideal spot for lunch.

A third dining room transitions the mood toward evening with heavy olive-green drapery, bouclé tub chairs and parquet floors, all lit by intimate, low-level lighting that sets a seductive tone.

The nightclub embraces a burlesque-inspired aesthetic framed by Hollywood-style mirrors, corduroy velvet-textured walls and upholstered seating in deep rust and amber tones. Marble-topped tables and touches of greenery complete the decadent atmosphere.

The menu draws on Mediterranean influences and showcases dishes such as lightly seared tuna and foie gras with potato mousseline, pecorino, Piedmont hazelnuts and a balsamic-flavored jus, or a veal chop with Béarnaise, capers, chervil, tarragon, roasted tomatoes and asparagus. The beverage list features a curated selection of French, Italian and Spanish wines alongside signature cocktails created by head mixologist Sam Bellan.
