Meet at EMC2: The Science-Inspired Hotel for Creative Events

Hotel EMC2

Guestroom

Part of Marriott’s upscale Autograph Collection, Hotel EMC2 in Chicago has enhanced its business and event offerings with two versatile new meeting rooms. Named Emmy Noether and Symmetry, the spaces combine flexible layouts, advanced audiovisual technology, and curated artwork to serve corporate gatherings, workshops, and social events. Together the rooms provide just under 2,000 square feet of meeting space across the hotel’s second and third floors, and each room can be arranged as a boardroom, U-shaped meeting, classroom, banquet, or theater layout to accommodate a range of group sizes and formats.

Symmetry features a 690-square-foot terrace that faces Ontario Street, offering an outdoor option for breaks, receptions, or small gatherings. Both rooms are equipped with Crestron RL2 Group Collaboration Systems and a suite of AV tools designed for seamless presentations and hybrid meetings: 10-inch touchscreens for control, table microphones, built-in speakers, headset and lavalier microphones, and Solstice Pod streaming devices for easy screen sharing and video streaming. These capabilities make the rooms suitable for modern meeting requirements, from interactive brainstorming sessions to presentations with remote participants.

The meeting spaces are also notable for their commissioned artwork by Eugenia Cheng, Ph.D., a British mathematician, musician, author and artist who serves as Scientist in Residence at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Cheng’s movable installations reveal two 75-inch monitors in Emmy Noether and two 65-inch monitors in Symmetry when opened, integrating art and technology in inventive ways. Decorative shelving around the rooms is filled with vintage books on art, science, physics, history and mathematics, creating an intellectual atmosphere that complements the hotel’s design ethos.

Hotel EMC2 offers additional amenities that support events and overnight stays. The property features 195 thoughtfully designed guestrooms, dining options capable of delivering restaurant-quality meals for private events, and a location in Streeterville near the Magnificent Mile shopping district. Its central position makes the hotel convenient for visitors seeking upscale accommodations with easy access to downtown Chicago landmarks, restaurants and retail.
