Christmas in Historic Bath, England: Festive Markets & Winter Events

Festive plans are already underway at The Bath Priory Hotel, set in England’s historic spa town of Bath. This elegant boutique hotel blends period charm with modern comforts, featuring landscaped gardens, 33 individually styled guestrooms and suites, and a Michelin-starred dining room that overlooks the grounds.

The hotel is offering a Four-Night Christmas Retreat from December 23–27, with rates starting at £663 per room, per night (approximately $865). The package includes a warm welcome with a Champagne reception and carol singers, a three-course à la carte dinner with coffee, petit fours and a matching wine flight on arrival (Dec. 23), and daily full English and continental breakfast. Guests will also enjoy cream tea, additional three-course à la carte dining options, and traditional treats including midnight Mass at Bath Abbey with return transport on Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Day, the retreat includes a stocking and a gift, a festive five-course lunch served with a glass of Champagne, coffee and petit fours, as well as an evening buffet. The following day features a number of special activities and dining experiences: a guided walking tour of Bath, tickets and transportation to the annual Christmas pantomime, and a horse-drawn carriage ride through Royal Victoria Park with warm mulled wine. Boxing Day (Dec. 26) culminates in a gala five-course wine dinner accompanied by a glass of Champagne and petit fours.

The package concludes with breakfast on Dec. 27. A shorter three-night option is also available for guests arriving on Christmas Eve. Throughout the stay, visitors can enjoy the hotel’s tranquil gardens, refined dining, and the atmospheric streets and architecture of Bath, making this retreat a seasonal escape that combines tradition, luxury and local culture.
