The first island in Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day Island Collection, Perfect Day at CocoCay, opened earlier this month as a $250 million private destination featuring the tallest waterslide in North America and the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean.
The island’s Thrill Waterpark offers seven single-rider waterslides, six multi-rider slides, an expansive wave pool and an interactive obstacle water course for guests seeking high-energy fun. Oasis Lagoon, the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool, provides three distinct coves designed for families, those looking to relax, and visitors who prefer the convenience of a swim-up bar.
Additional attractions include a helium balloon ride that provides the highest vantage point in the Bahamas, a 1,600-foot zip line course, and courts and fields for basketball, volleyball and soccer. A variety of water sports activities are also available for guests who want to get on the water.
Dining options on the island are casual and convenient, with spots such as Captain Jack’s, Skipper’s Grill and Chill Grill serving a range of island-style fare and quick bites to keep visitors energized throughout the day.
“Royal Caribbean is the proven leader when it comes to pushing the envelope in cruise ship design and the experiences offered at sea,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “With Perfect Day at CocoCay, we are proud to bring our 50-year legacy of innovation ashore, transforming an incredible island into a private destination that redefines vacation experiences. It’s exciting to see our vision come to life; our guests are in for an experience unlike any other.”
