Delta Air Lines is expanding its international network from Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport with new nonstop service to Keflavík International Airport in Reykjavík. Beginning May 26, 2016, Delta will operate seasonal nonstop flights between Minneapolis–St. Paul and Reykjavík using Boeing 757-300 aircraft configured with 199 seats, including 20 premium cabin seats.
“By next spring, our customers in the Twin Cities will enjoy direct service to six overseas international destinations in Europe and Asia,” said Bob Cortelyou, senior vice president of network planning at Delta Air Lines. “New service from Minneapolis–St. Paul to Reykjavík will create more opportunities for passengers and for cargo handlers importing and exporting fish and other commodities between the two countries.”
In addition, Delta extended its service between Reykjavík and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport beginning Feb. 11, 2016. Previously operated for four months over the peak summer period, the JFK–Reykjavík route will now run for seven months, starting with three weekly flights and increasing to daily service in May 2016. Delta remains the only U.S. carrier operating flights to Iceland.
