Delta Air Lines will expand its Los Angeles (LAX) network with new nonstop service to Denver (DEN) starting next year. The airline plans to operate five daily roundtrip flights between LAX and DEN beginning June 1, 2016, to strengthen connections for business travelers and other customers in the Los Angeles market.
The new Denver flights will create convenient one‑stop connections from Los Angeles to several important international destinations. Through Delta’s partnerships and existing transpacific routes, customers can connect via LAX to cities such as Sydney (SYD) and Brisbane (BNE) in conjunction with Delta’s alliance with Virgin Australia, as well as Tokyo (HND). This addition also complements Delta’s recent expansion at LAX, including the start of nonstop service to Shanghai (PVG).
Delta’s broader rollout at LAX in 2016 includes fleet and frequency enhancements across several shuttle and long‑haul markets. Boeing 717 aircraft will be introduced on all Delta Shuttle flights between Los Angeles and San Francisco (SFO). Frequency increases are planned to key East Coast and West Coast destinations, with service growing to 10 daily flights to both New York (JFK) and Seattle (SEA), and the addition of a third daily flight to Boston (BOS).
“We are relentless in our pursuit of becoming the airline of choice for Angelenos, and Denver is a key addition to our growing portfolio on the West Coast,” said Ranjan Goswami, vice president, sales, West, Delta Air Lines. “With five daily flights and our recent investments in Terminal 5, Delta has a very competitive offering for customers traveling between L.A. and Denver.”
