Luxury Island Retreat Offers Exclusive Addresses for Castaways

Grand new lodging has opened on the private island of Félicité in the Seychelles. Six Senses Zil Pasyon offers tropical villa living at its finest: 28 one- and two-bedroom pool villas designed to celebrate the island’s natural beauty. The resort’s spa, perched on a rocky cliff above the sea, is scheduled to open in early 2017 and complements thoughtfully integrated infinity pools, yoga platforms and villas that blend into the landscape. The spa is situated among seaside rock formations to maximize views and a sense of seclusion.

Guest activities are varied and designed to connect visitors with the island environment and local culture. Offerings include an outdoor cinema beneath the stars, a well-stocked library, cooking classes, a water sports program, an Experience Center showcasing island life, three white-sand beaches and a dedicated children’s villa called Trouloulou. Boating excursions to nearby islands are also available for those who want to explore beyond Félicité.

Culinary direction is led by Chef Richard Lee, who draws inspiration from the ancient Spice Route to create sensory-driven menus across the resort’s dining venues. Guests can enjoy an interactive Chef’s Kitchen, a meat-free Ocean Kitchen focused on fresh fish and organic produce, and the casual Koko Bar. Private dining options include the Wine Vault and numerous scenic locations around the island. The Island Café serves relaxed meals, while Lakanbiz offers a wide selection of aged and flavored rums that evoke the feel of a pirate’s hideaway.

Rates at Six Senses Zil Pasyon begin at $1,339 per night and include breakfast, taxes and service charges. The property lies 30 nautical miles northeast of Seychelles International Airport on the main island of Mahé, and is accessible by a 20-minute helicopter flight.
