Three mixology evenings took place this summer at Alchemia bar inside the Cà di Dio Hotel in Venice as part of a series called “Cin.” Hosted by Marco Vecchiato, Alchemia’s head barman, the events were held in the hotel’s atmospheric interior courtyard and featured conversations with renowned Italian guest mixologists. Each evening showcased iconic cocktails from the visiting bars and offered attendees specially crafted drinks created for the occasion.

The series opened on June 29 with “Florence meets Venice,” featuring Matteo Sanago of Eye Cocktail Bar. Sanago presented one of his signature creations, the San Marco, a balanced drink highlighted by pink grapefruit and raspberry notes. On July 13, Patrick Pistolesi from Rome’s Drink Kong joined Vecchiato and poured the Canova, a Mediterranean take on the classic gimlet that emphasizes bright, citrus-forward flavors. The series concluded on August 3 with a guest from Rita’s Tiki Room in Milan, a bar founded in 2019 that is known for tropical-inspired cocktails blending fruit, spices and a diverse selection of rums, tequilas, gins and bourbons. For the final night the Patchouli Mulata Daiquiri was served, a complex mix of Cuban rum infused with patchouli, bourbon, cocoa and vanilla liqueurs, and lime juice.
