Delta Air Lines Launches New Premium Uniform Collection

Delta Air Lines has teamed up with lifestyle brand Lands’ End to introduce a new uniform collection that emphasizes service, style and quality for its workforce. The program covers uniforms for some 60,000 employees around the globe.

Lands’ End will produce uniforms designed by Zac Posen for above-wing Airport Customer Service ticket and gate agents, Delta Sky Club staff and In-Flight Service employees. Many of these roles have gone without a uniform update since 2006. Other employee groups—including below-wing Airport Customer Service, Delta Cargo, Ground Service Equipment Maintenance and Delta TechOps—last received new uniforms in 2000. Delta plans to present the full collection for the first time in Atlanta on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

“The new uniform collection will be a strong brand statement and builds on our team members’ sense of pride as they serve our customers around the world,” said Gil West, senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of Delta Air Lines. “Fit, form, function and style are all integral to the uniforms for Delta people, and Lands’ End is the right partner to deliver on these things.”

After the public reveal, Lands’ End will complete final prototypes for a wear-test program involving about 1,000 employees. Those wear testers will use the uniforms between December and March 2017 to surface any adjustments needed to improve fit, comfort and performance prior to final production. The airline expects the collection to begin rolling out in early 2018.
