The 2018 summer schedule from United Airlines brings travelers a broader selection of destinations and more nonstop and one-stop connections than ever before.
This summer, United is expanding service from more than 100 North American cities, making transatlantic travel easier with convenient one-stop connections to Europe. New nonstop summer routes include Reykjavik (Iceland), Porto (Portugal), Edinburgh (Scotland) and Zurich (Switzerland). In addition, United has restored nonstop summer service to multiple cities across Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Sweden.
Service to Reykjavik from New York/Newark began May 23, while flights to Porto launched May 3. Edinburgh service now operates from both Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles, and Zurich service departs San Francisco, giving travelers more direct options to reach these popular European destinations.

Seasonal service also returns this summer to Athens (Greece); Glasgow (Scotland); Madrid and Barcelona (Spain); Rome and Venice (Italy); Shannon (Ireland); and 18 additional seasonal destinations. These routes provide more options for vacationers and help ease peak-season demand.
United has also extended its trans-Atlantic seasonal schedule from key U.S. gateways including Chicago O’Hare, San Francisco and Washington Dulles, beginning earlier in the year and continuing through October. For example, daily seasonal flights from Chicago O’Hare to Edinburgh and from San Francisco to Munich started May 4 and will operate through October 26.

The Caribbean is becoming more accessible as United restores service to destinations that were impacted by last year’s hurricanes. Earlier in the year United reinstated flights from New York/Newark to Aguadilla (Puerto Rico), St. Maarten and St. Thomas. Service to San Juan is increasing, with up to twice-daily flights from New York/Newark and daily service from Chicago O’Hare, Houston Intercontinental and Washington Dulles. Additionally, travelers from New Orleans and San Antonio can use seasonal weekend service to Cancún beginning June 9.
United remains the only U.S. carrier offering nonstop service from the continental United States to Tahiti, launching a new San Francisco–Papeete route on October 30. This seasonal service will run through March 28, 2019, and seats are available to book now.
With more nonstop and one-stop options across Europe, the Caribbean and the South Pacific, United’s 2018 summer schedule aims to give travelers greater flexibility and easier access to popular destinations.
