Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Expands Global Portfolio

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its global footprint with new properties across Turkey, Mongolia, Morocco and Pakistan. The company recently assumed management of a landmark 5-star hotel in Karachi—its first property in Pakistan. The 407-room Mövenpick Hotel Karachi will undergo renovations later this year, updating two guestroom floors as well as the restaurants and the lobby to enhance guest experience.

In Morocco, where Mövenpick already operates a hotel in Tangier, the brand is increasing its presence with openings in Casablanca and Marrakech. The 184-room Mövenpick Hotel Casablanca features a rooftop pool, a spa, three on-site restaurants and six meeting rooms, catering to both leisure and business travelers. The 374-room Mövenpick Hotel Marrakech is scheduled to open at the end of the year in the city’s Hivernage district and will offer one of the largest swimming pools in the area.

Turkey will see the brand add a fourth property this summer with the 137-room Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul Golden Horn. Located just 10 minutes from Istanbul’s Old Town, the hotel overlooks the shores of the Golden Horn waterway and provides convenient access to the city’s historic and cultural attractions.

Further expansion is planned for Mongolia, where Mövenpick will open a major hotel and residences complex in the capital. The Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Ulaanbaatar, slated for 2018, will comprise 250 guestrooms and 124 serviced residences, positioning the brand to serve both short- and long-stay guests in the growing market.

Overall, Mövenpick’s portfolio now includes 80 upscale hotels and resorts across 24 countries, reflecting steady global growth and a focus on destinations that blend business and leisure travel demand.
