Windstar Introduces 2017 Cruise Sale and Limited-Time Campaign

Windstar Cruises launched a new advertising campaign to kick off its 2017 cruise season and promote a selection of discounted itineraries.

The luxury small-ship line built the campaign around the question “Have You Ever?” — a prompt designed to spark curiosity in travelers and encourage those who haven’t yet experienced a cruise to try something new.

Alongside the campaign, Windstar rolled out a substantial sale on roughly 20 Mediterranean sailings, highlighting popular destinations such as Italy and Greece. For example, a seven-day yacht voyage that normally departs from and returns to Rome at a typical rate of $13,599 per guest was reduced to $6,699 per person for the promotion.

Another featured itinerary sailed from Barcelona to Rome with calls in Monaco and along the French Riviera. That voyage, usually priced near $6,000 per person, was advertised during the sale for $999.

Travelers interested in these offers could book through Windstar’s website, where the discounted sailings were available across multiple departure dates.

The promotion underscored Windstar’s position in the small-ship luxury market by pairing intimate yachting experiences with aggressive promotional pricing aimed at attracting both new and repeat guests. With stops at iconic Mediterranean ports and a limited number of cabins per sailing, the line emphasized a personalized on-board atmosphere and shore excursion options that highlight local culture and cuisine.

By simplifying the decision with striking price reductions and a concise campaign message, Windstar aimed to make luxury cruising feel more accessible. The sale targeted travelers seeking an elevated, yet intimate, cruise experience — combining scenic coastal routes, refined onboard service, and curated shore visits to well-known and lesser-known Mediterranean towns.

Prospective passengers were encouraged to compare itineraries and dates on the cruise line’s site to find the best match for their travel preferences and budget, keeping an eye on availability since promotional fares were limited and offered for select departure dates.
