I can still picture my job interview vividly, down to the outfit I wore. Climbing the steps to our first office in 2006, I had no idea what waited ahead. Though that was nearly 18 years ago — not quite two decades — it feels like I’ve been part of Global Traveler for its entire history. I’ve witnessed the evolution of our brand, our products, our team, and our readers. It’s a true honor to present this issue to you — our 300th issue and the celebration of our 20th anniversary. We’re thrilled to mark this milestone, and the achievement feels especially meaningful given the many challenges the travel industry has faced over the past twenty years.

I consider myself fortunate to be part of the Global Traveler family and to have had experiences beyond anything I imagined when I started. The photo collage in this issue captures only a fraction of the incredible moments we’ve shared. The magazine’s continued success is due in large part to our publisher and CEO, Francis X. Gallagher, who has steered this publication through two decades of change and challenge.
How are we celebrating in this issue? On page 34 you’ll find our anniversary tribute, and on page 42 we explore the world’s best coffee destinations. We also take you on journeys to Panamá City, Panamá; Tampa, Florida; Copenhagen, Denmark; Córdoba, Argentina; Melbourne, Australia; Malta; Rome, Italy; the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda; and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
In March we’ll feature a look at women hoteliers and much more. Thank you for traveling with us over the past 20 years — and for joining us on the adventures still to come.
