United Airlines has positioned its Polaris business class as a flagship product in long-haul travel, aiming to strengthen its market position and attract higher-yield customers.
Over the coming years, the carrier plans to expand its fleet with additional aircraft configured with Polaris seating. Passengers who purchase a Polaris ticket gain access to dedicated Polaris lounges at select airports and enjoy premium onboard amenities, including luxury amenity kits, Saks Fifth Avenue bedding, generous personal storage, and a full multi-course inflight menu.
Polaris has already contributed positively to United’s financial performance, helping the airline compete more effectively in the premium travel segment. United views continued investment in Polaris as a strategic move to enhance its business-class product relative to rivals.
United’s extensive hub network supports this strategy. Major hubs in San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR), Chicago (ORD), and Houston (IAH) give the airline strong access to key international and domestic routes that benefit most from an upgraded long-haul business class offering.
