airberlin is expanding its presence in Spain with a new service linking Düsseldorf (DUS) and Madrid (MAD). The flight will operate daily except on Saturdays, reflecting the airline’s commitment to strengthening its network in the Spanish market. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO of airberlin, said the new connection highlights the importance of Spain and will allow the carrier to serve the market more effectively. He added that the route will significantly increase capacity to and from Madrid and will be smoothly integrated into airberlin’s Düsseldorf hub.
To meet rising demand for travel to Madrid, airberlin will also increase the frequency of flights between Berlin (TXL) and Madrid. From May, the Berlin–Madrid service will rise from 12 flights per week to twice daily. Through its two international hubs in Berlin and Düsseldorf, airberlin will link Madrid with 29 destinations across Europe and beyond, improving connections for both leisure and business travelers.
